In 2020, the media startup 1E9 reactivated the old IMAX Planetarium at Deutsches Museum to perform their futuristic conference there. Due to the corona pandemic, the event had to take place digitally, so they converted the planetarium into a studio to broadcast their contents around the world. The set design consisting of a 360° stage design and converted LED-Panel Walls, were conceptualized and implemented. The hexagon shape and positions of the objects were adapted to the geometry of the dome and positioned in the centre of the planetarium. Integrated LED strips embedded in the steel covering create indirect lightning and a floating effect. This appealing look fits perfectly with the modern and futuristic appearance of the 1E9 conference. The stage system was designed so that it can be assembled and disassembled at any time and moved to another location. This feature was used in 2021 to move the set to the edge of the circled room. The new arrangement of the objects created a variation of studio setup compared to the previous year highlighting the very elaborate dome projection, created by “Lichtgestalten”.
